What is PMC Clay?
Let me introduce you to PMC (Precious Metal Clay), or sometimes called Silver clay.
Have you ever wanted to make beautiful and creative pieces of jewellery, but don’t have the time or knowledge.
With PMC you are only limited by your imagination, you can shape, mould, carve, roll anything you can do with normal clay you can do with PMC, even filigree designs.
Once fired this is when the magic begins, you end up with pure fine silver 99.9%, it can even be hallmarked.
How does it work?
PMC was developed back in the 1990’s by Mitsubishi Materials by combining real silver with water and an organic binder, this makes a clay like material. The clay is used to make jewellery etc then is fired to drive off the water and binder this leaves the silver. The result is solid metal with the charcteristics similar to those of cast precious metal.
After firing you can drill it, polish it, hammer it use it like any other precious metal, combine the clay with beads, glass leather, gemstones anything to produce your own individual pieces of jewellery, including rings, pendants and charms.
How can I get started?
The best way is to attend one of my beginner courses, look at the course date page or contact me for more information.
